Admissions

If you are interested in joining St John’s then please review the documents below and make an appointment to have a look around our school.  All in-year admissions will be processed through the Admissions Team at Hertfordshire County Council.  If your application is for Nursery then the school will process everything that is required.  Finally, if you are interested in Reception admissions then this is processed by Hertfordshire County Council, but you will need to complete a Supplementary Information Form, which can be obtained from the school office.  If after the admissions process you have not been allocated a place at St John’s and you wish to appeal this decision, then please click here for further information.

To apply for an application for Reception and above,  you will need to click on the following link: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions.

For a nursery place application, please email the school office at: admin@digswell.herts.sch.uk

If you have any questions then please contact our school office, who will be more than happy to assist you.

The appeals process is for people applying for their child to start primary school for the first time in September 2025.

After allocation day on 16 April 2025, you will be able to appeal for any of the primary schools you applied for but were unsuccessful.

  • Appeals deadline – submit your appeal by 4pm on 20th May 2025.
  • Appeals will be heard between 13 June and 22 July 2025.

Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

The Local Authority will include information about appeals in its post-allocation literature and further details and explanation may be found in the LA’s admission literature and website.
