In school we are always looking for volunteers to support the school offer and there are many different ways in which you can support the school.
One way in which you could potentially support the school is by becoming a school governor. To find out what this role includes, I strongly encourage you to visit our governor website page and the National Governance Association where you can find out more information. If after reviewing this information you are interested in becoming a governor then please contact the School Office via email on admin@digswell.herts.sch.uk to find out whether we have any vacancies. If at the time of making contact we do not have any vacancies then we can add your details to our list of potential governors.
Another way of helping the school is to join our Friends of St John’s group. This group of volunteers provide excellent enrichment opportunities for our children and families, whilst also raising money for the school. You might enjoy planning events, have great communication skills or enjoy working as part of a team. If you are interested in joining this committed group of volunteers then please email friends@digswell.herts.sch.uk.
In addition to potentially being a school governor or a member of the Friends of St John’s, there are a number of other ways in which you can help the school that could fit in better with the time that you have available. For example, you might be a keen gardener; free to listen to children read during the school day or interested in looking after our animals in school etc. Whatever your interest and availability, do please get in touch with the School Office via email on admin@digswell.herts.sch.uk as we would love to hear from you. As much as this is your children’s school, it is also your school too and we are very happy for you to be involved in a way that supports the school in delivering our aims.
Many hands make light work and we thrive due to working effectively as a team.
